PHP Developer/Web Designer - BARNSTAPLE
At Artavia Advertising our continuing Digital growth means that we need to recruit an enthusiastic, full time PHP Developer/Web Designer.
This role requires a talented and flexible mid-senior level php developer who has real passion, air and commitment to developing attractive, functional websites, applications and back end systems.
The ideal candidate will be hungry to work on a varied range of projects across an interesting mix of clients. They will be expected to lead development focused projects and must be able to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines and be naturally collaborative.
Essential skills:
- An excellent problem solver with a love of a complex problem and an elegant solution.
- Clear thinking, thorough and well organised.
- Mid-Senior weight, with a demonstrable portfolio of published work for agency clients
- Highly proficient in core LAMP technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP)
- Skilled in leading and guiding development projects
- Experience with Object Orientated Programming and MVC
- Experience with, XHTML CSS, Javascript, and JQuery
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Excellent communicator, technical thinker, and team player.
- Able to communicate technical issues to non-technical people effectively - both internally and to clients.
- Excellent command of English language
- Demonstrable approach to test driven development using appropriate tools.
- Professional appearance and manner
Advantageous:
- Degree (2:1 or higher) in Computer Science or related technical field, or at least 5 years demonstrable senior/lead development experience.
- Experience with Object-Oriented JavaScript, Actionscript 2/3
- Direct experience working in an agency
- Experience with versioning systems (Git/SVN)
- Experience with Access Protocols (SOAP)
- Experience with mobile development (Native iOS & Android and/or 'Webapps')
- Working knowledge and experience of different social networking tools and APIs (Twitter / Facebook / YouTube / Google etc)
